Monterey County Wineries to Serve Associated Press Managing Editors at 2005 Conference in San Jose
Monterey County, CA - October 24, 2005 - The Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA) is pleased to announce that Monterey County has been selected as the featured wine region host for the 2005 Associated Press Editorial Managers Conference Reception on Friday, October 28, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at The Fairmont San Jose Hotel. Nine Monterey County wineries will be pouring their best at the event.
“Newspaper editors are interested in topics that are new and fresh,” said Mark Mittelstadt, executive director of APME. “In planning the event we wanted to take advantage of the Bay Area’s reputation for producing great wines. We felt that featuring the wine region just south of the San Jose conference would showcase a growing wine region and allow our attendees to be exposed to the caliber of wines from that area.”
The reception is open to all registrants at the APME conference, including APME attendees, members of the AP Photo Managers, APOnline representatives and participants in the two-day NewsTrain. Light appetizers will be served and attendees will receive a special gift. Details on the conference can be found at www.apme.com.
“We are so pleased that the organizers of the Associated Press Editorial Managers Conference selected Monterey as the featured wine region for their Friday reception event,” commented Rhonda Motil, executive director of the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association. “We have assembled a representation of wineries from the region that are indicative of the quality of wines that are coming from Monterey County.”
The following wineries will be participating in the Friday evening event: Cima Collina, De Tierra Vineyards, Estancia, Hahn Estates, J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines, Jekel Vineyards, Morgan Winery, Paraiso Vineyards and Tudor Wines.
