Fantasy Camp For Wine Lovers Advances On Carmel Valley
Wine Country - July 25, 2003 - Wine Boot Camp, the most talked about wine experience available, proudly announces the second annual Monterey County Wine Boot Camp. The Monterey County Wine Boot Camp will feature several wineries who are members of the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA). This all day event is designed for people who are passionate about wine and passionate about life. On August 23, 2003 Wine Boot Camp recruits will gather at a secret location in the Carmel Valley. Maneuvers will commence at 8:30 AM sharp.
The morning mission site will be at Joullian Vineyards. Wine Boot Camp recruits will work hands-on in the vineyard under the tutelage of the masterful guidance of Angel Cabrera, Vineyard Manager; Ridge Watson, Winemaker/General Manager; and the Joullian vineyard team.
Wine Boot Camp recruits will enjoy lunch in the vineyard at Joullian highlighted by their very special wines.
The second mission of the day will be at Heller Estate. The Wine Boot Camp troops will learn the art of winemaking under the tutelage of Rich Tanguay, winemaker for Heller Estate. Each recruit will bottle their own wine blended from the fabulous wines at Heller Estate.
After a long day, recruits will have an opportunity to join the amphibious unit if they bring their swimming gear. Properly outfitted troops can relax in the hot tubs at Heller Estate.
Other assignments of the day will include the highly acclaimed Aromatic Workshop conducted by Affairs of the Vine. The evening detail will feature a tasting of some of Monterey County's finest wines (J Lohr, Blackstone, Chateau Julien, Pessagno, Scheid, and Ventana) followed by a mouth-watering Food & Wine Pairing at Heller.
Raw recruits and wine generals alike will relish the experiences provided by this very special Wine Boot Camp.
The San Francisco Chronicle calls Wine Boot Camp a "full body experience."
