Monterey, CA - November 10, 2005 - The Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA) is pleased to announce that Monterey Wine Country has been selected to be the regional wine host for the 2005 Bravo San Diego event on Saturday, November 19, 2005 from 6:00pm to 12 midnight at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego. Tickets are $200 per person and can be obtained at www.bravosd.org. Ten Monterey County wineries will be pouring their best at the event.
Bravo San Diego brings arts, business and civic leaders together to enjoy nineteen stages of entertainment and over 1600 performers. Last year the event successfully raised $72,000 for local arts organizations.
“We initially came in contact with the fabulous wines of Monterey County during their national tour in March 2005. We had the opportunity of sampling 25 wines from the Monterey region at the sold-out event. Seeing how intrigued the media, trade, and consumers were with the wines, we knew that the Monterey group would be a unique addition to our event,” commented Ron DeHarte, executive director of Bravo San Diego. “The quality of wines originating from Monterey is exceptional. We know that our guests, who have a love for the best in wine, food and art, will be impressed with the Monterey pavilion of wines. ”
The following wineries will be participating in the Bravo San Diego event: Bernardus, Carmichael Vintners, Cima Collina, Estancia, Galante, Hahn Estates / Smith & Hook Winery, J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines, Manzoni Estate Vineyard, Paraiso Vineyards and Ventana Vineyards.
