Carmel Valley Art & Wine Celebration June 11, 2005
Carmel Valley, CA - Summer is a wonderful time to visit sunny Carmel Valley! Sponsored by Magic63 AM Radio KIDD, River Ranch Vineyards, and WineCountry.com, the Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present its second annual Carmel Valley Art and Wine Celebration on Saturday, June 11th from 11:00 am-5:00 pm in Carmel Valley Village. The celebration will showcase local artists, artisans, galleries, wines, restaurants, shops and musicians. Join us in celebrating some of the wonderful sights, tastes and talent the verdant Valley has to offer.
The celebration will feature art exhibits throughout the Village, beginning outside the Heller Estate Tasting Room and ending in front of the San Saba Tasting Room. Local painters, photographers, jewelry designers, and other artists will display their creations throughout the day. In addition, a number of Carmel Valley Village artists and artisans will hold open studios, demonstrating their work. Fine art galleries, antique shops, boutiques, and a fine selection of cafes and restaurants, which line the streets of the quaint little Village, will join the festivities. Local musicians will fill the air with live music.
Wine tasting will be free at many of Carmel Valley’s delightful tasting rooms and at businesses featuring independent Carmel Valley vintners with the purchase of a celebration wine glass. A sampling of the 13 wineries who will be featured in the event include Bernardus Winery, Chateau Julien Wine Estate, Chateau Christina, Chateau Sinnet, Heller Estate, Joullian Vineyards, San Saba Vineyards, Ventana Vineyards and Wines of Carmel will all waive their tasting fees for the day to celebration glass holders. Celebration wine tasting glasses can be purchased for $20 the day of the event at Chateau Julien (located 5 miles east on Carmel Valley Road), Heller Estate (located 12 miles east on Carmel Valley Road at the entrance to Carmel Valley Village) and San Saba Vineyards (at 19 East Carmel Valley Road in the historic White Oak Plaza).
Carmel Valley has a long history of wine growing and over time, the valley has developed a reputation for producing an abundance of excellent, elegant wines. The gravel covered land of the valley as well as the warm days and cool nights make Carmel Valley an ideal location for vineyards and more specifically red wine varieties. Don’t miss the opportunity to taste for yourself!
Wine tasting, strolling through local galleries, beautiful local artwork, a leisurely lunch in the Carmel Valley sunshine…is there a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon?
