Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association Announces
The Friends of Monterey Wine Country Membership Program
Fans of Monterey Wineries and Grape Growers are Invited to Join Exclusive Membership Club
Monterey,CA- August 8, 2003 - The Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA) is pleased to announce a new consumer membership program - The Friends of Monterey Wine Country. Consumers who enroll in the club are entitled to perks from local wineries and discounts and promotions at local hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
Members of the program will receive a laminated card that will be punched as they redeem each award. A member's guide and the MCVGA website lists the special offers that are available at participating tasting rooms and hospitality vendors. Samples of these special offers include:
Discounts from 10%-30% at participating Monterey Wine Country tasting rooms
Discount of 15% on all MCVGA sponsored events
A $20 gift voucher towards a complimentary bottle of wine at select tasting rooms
An invitation to the "Members Only" BBQ in July 2004. Guests will be able to meet the winemakers and other leaders in the local wine community.

"This program is a fabulous way for consumers to be a part of a special club that fosters the growth and development of Monterey Wine Country. The winery credits can really add up to significant savings for a frequent visitor to MCVGA tasting rooms, and the special offers at hotels, restaurants, and attractions contribute to guests seeing all that Monterey has to offer," stated Rhonda Motil, Executive Director of Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association. Ms. Motil adds, "This is truly a unique program that gets the whole community involved."
Local hospitality partners who are participating in the program include Fandango, Spanish Peaks, The Duck Club, Inn at the Pinnacles, Inns of Monterey, The Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa, The Monterey Marriott, Ag Venture Tours, The Monterey Bay Aquarium, The National Steinbeck Center, and Wild Things.
An annual membership with The Friends of Monterey Wine Country is $99. For consumers who have an existing wine club membership at any MCVGA winery, the price is only $79. Membership is on an annual basis, August through July, and can be purchased by calling MCVGA at 831/375-9400 or ordered online at www.montereywines.org
