The Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association Showcases Member's Wines at Vinexpo in Bordeaux, France
Monterey Wine Country will be featured at major wine conference June 22-26, 2003
Monterey,CA- June 16, 2003 - The Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association (MCVGA) is pleased to announce that Monterey Wine Country will be a featured wine region at the Vinexpo Conference in Bordeaux, France from June 22-26, 2003. Vinexpo 2003 is expected to welcome 55,000 visitors from 140 countries, as well as 1200 journalists.
"We are so pleased to be participating in this event," stated Rhonda Motil, Executive Director at MCVGA. "Vinexpo is a premier wine marketing opportunity and one of the largest conferences in the world. Monterey County wines will be showcased next to the most prestigious wine regions of the world and we believe that this speaks to the caliber of wines that are coming out of our area. Monterey County has a lot to be proud of by being included in this event!"
Wineries from Monterey County who will be featured in the Monterey County booth at Vinexpo include: Bernardus Winery, Blackstone, Chateau Julien Wine Estate, Estancia, Hahn Estates, Hames Valley Vineyards, J. Lohr Estates and Crosspoint Vineyard, Jekel Vineyards, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, Lockwood Vineyard, McIntyre Vineyards, Monterra, Morgan Winery, Paraiso Vineyards, Scheid Vineyard, Thomas Fogarty Winery, and Ventana Vineyards / Meador Estates. Several of the wines will also be served in the "California Grill", Vinexpo's premier on-site restaurant.
"Participating in Vinexpo with MCVGA gives us an opportunity that we otherwise could not enjoy - as a brand-new brand with limited production the costs would be prohibitive to go on our own," stated Nicole McPherson, Marketing Director of Hames Valley Vineyards. "But presenting as a group with other Monterey County wines, we can promote not only the overall quality of the area but also showcase our own wines, getting our name in front of the importers worldwide who are looking for boutique producers like us. It's a great opportunity."
