There’s Something for Every Palate at the Carmel Valley Wine and Art Walk

Carmel Valley tasting rooms, art galleries and shops extend their summer hours

Monterey County, CA- April 28, 2005 - Carmel Valley wine tasting rooms, art galleries and shops are pleased to announce that they will remain open an additional three hours every first Friday from May through September. The extended hours are part of the Carmel Valley Wine and Art Walk that will encourage locals and guests to take advantage of the long daylight hours of the summer season and explore all that there is to do in Carmel Valley. The first Friday to celebrate the event is Friday, May 6th.

Carmel Valley was once the home of dairies, ranchers and farms; and in some cases, it still is. But most of the historic family holdings have evolved into award-winning wineries, one-of-a-kind Carmel Valley shopping villages, unique art galleries and fine-dining restaurants featuring organically grown ingredients. The concept of First Fridays has been met with great community support, as the region continues to build an identity as being the home of award winning wineries and art galleries.

“The Carmel Valley Wine and Art Walk is a summer alternative for something unique to do on a Friday night. The tasting rooms will be offering special wine tastings, wine discounts, and lively hospitality all in a casual and friendly atmosphere,” commented Ken Wilson of Joullian Vineyards. “We are thrilled to be partnering with our friends in the art world because there is such a nice synergy between art lovers and wine aficionados. By having both industries offering extended hours, guests can kick off their weekend by enjoying two passions in one evening. They can then cap the night off with a wonderful dinner at one of the fine restaurants in Carmel Valley.”

The Carmel Valley Wine and Art Walk is a complimentary event. Most tasting rooms and galleries will remain open until 8:00pm or 8:30pm, varying by location. Guests can begin their evening at any wine tasting room or art gallery in Carmel Village. For a directory of wine tasting rooms, please visit www.montereywines.org.
